Sol

Sol is a ~2-year-old, 55 lb Shepherd-Husky mix who is deeply affectionate and loves her people. She was rescued from a high-kill shelter and has been with foster families, learning to settle in with structure and guidance. Sol is potty trained and enjoys relaxing on the couch after a walk. She is a responsive and eager student when it comes to training, though she can have a bit of husky sassiness! Sol enjoys playing with dogs she connects with but needs supervision to help her learn appropriate play styles. She knows basic commands like "sit" and "down" and makes eye contact when engaged.

Ideal Home

Sol is looking for an experienced owner who understands breeds like Shepherds, Huskies, or Malamutes. She would thrive in a suburban home with a fenced yard and access to trail walks. A dog sibling or friend who matches her energy and play style would be wonderful. Sol is not suitable for apartment living or a dog-busy neighborhood at this time.

Ongoing Health

Sol has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated (Rabies, DHPP, Lepto, Bordetella), dewormed, and received a wellness checkup, heartworm test, and blood tests. She is microchipped and registered with AKC Reunited.

Training & Support

Sol is working on her leash reactivity and frustration when encountering other dogs. She is learning to manage her lunging and barking in these situations with the help of trainers and her foster family. While she does well on quiet trails, busy streets are challenging. Continued training and consistency are essential for her success. She is not a candidate for dog parks but can do well with one-on-one playdates after slow introductions. Her foster family will share all the necessary information to continue her routine.
