Elise is a 12-month-old, 25-pound McNab Collie mix with a heart full of love and a past that has made her cautious but incredibly resilient. She was found abandoned and injured on the side of the road and bravely made her way from Mexico to Houston. Elise is a deeply affectionate dog who will be your loyal shadow, believing you are her entire world. She's incredibly sweet and thinks she's a lap dog, making her an ideal candidate for a supportive companion role. Elise also has an alpha personality, meaning she likes to take the lead and is very protective of her people.
Ideal Home
Elise would thrive in a home where she can be the sole focus of attention, preferably as the only pet. While she has shown she can coexist with other animals and children, her protective nature and desire to lead suggest a single-pet household would be ideal for her to truly relax and feel secure.
Ongoing Health
Elise is vaccinated, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. She has a health certificate available if transportation is needed.
Training & Support
Due to her past experiences, Elise can be protective and may bark at strangers or new animals, and in rare instances, may snap if she feels her space or people are threatened. This behavior is manageable and fixable with consistent training and patience. A professional trainer has evaluated her and confirmed she is capable of thriving with the right guidance and a stable, loving environment. She is kennel and potty trained, takes treats gently, and walks perfectly on a leash. She has low to medium energy and is generally quiet and calm.
