Coffee is a charming 1-year-old male Labrador Creole mix who weighs about 30 lbs. He was rescued in March 2024 and is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, awaiting his transport to the East Coast. Coffee is a loving, intelligent, and playful companion who is eager to please. He's sociable with people, children, and other dogs, enjoying playtime, walks, and plenty of affection. While he can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, a little warmth and attention quickly melt his reserve, and he'll be snuggling in your arms in no time. Coffee is also dog and cat friendly, docile, loyal, and brings a joyful energy to his foster home. He's already crate and leash trained, a testament to his eagerness to learn. Coffee was found in a field with his six siblings on March 8th, 2024.
Ideal Home
Coffee would thrive in a home with house owners who have a fenced backyard. He needs an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and is open to understanding the needs and behaviors of a rescued animal. Experience with dog behavior and training, along with high tolerance and patience for a rescued pup, is essential. Please note that Coffee is not yet house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Coffee has completed a comprehensive health protocol including: spay/neuter certificate, two DHPPI vaccines, rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchip, 4DX test and certificate, negative heartworm test certificate, and has received monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive (fleas, ticks, and heartworm). He also has a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Coffee is crate and leash trained. He is not yet house-trained, and adopters should be prepared to work on this. His foster family notes that rescued dogs often require patience and ongoing education, and while they do their best, it's impossible to house-train every animal due to the sheer volume of rescues.
