Sandy is a one-year-old Lab/Pit Bull mix (best guess) with a beautiful silvery-gray coat, an award-winning smile, and a heart devoted to her people. She thrives in a foster home with children of all ages and absolutely adores them, often following them around, joining in playtime, and accepting treats from her tiny friends. Sandy is the type of dog who wants to be part of every family activity, checking in on what everyone is doing, from dinner preparations to homework sessions. She loves toys, carrying them around, chewing on them, playing fetch, and showing them off. She also gets the cutest zoomies, especially in the mornings, and is incredibly food motivated, happily learning new skills for a tasty reward. Sandy is a wonderful crate companion, settling quietly and doing well when crated. She's a great passenger in the car and is always ready for an adventure, though she'd rather spend time at home with her family. She enjoys the company of other dogs, especially smaller canine friends, and has lived around chickens, doing well with them. Sandy is a sensitive soul who can feel overwhelmed when she's the center of attention. While she loves affection, she appreciates relationships that develop at her pace and can be unsure of new people or direct attention. Once she understands you're a friend, her sweet personality shines through. She would do best with an adopter who can read her body language, respect her boundaries, and help her build confidence.
Ideal Home
Sandy thrives in a busy household where she can quietly observe, participate, and feel included without constant pressure. She would do best with an adopter who understands that confidence can grow and trust can deepen. A home with a yard would likely suit her best, as she loves having space to play fetch, explore, and enjoy her surroundings. While she loves children, they are not a requirement for her happiness.
