Rusty

Rusty is a spunky, 4-5-year-old neutered Black Mouth Cur Shepherd mix who weighs about 50lbs. He's up-to-date on all his shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Rusty loves to play, especially games of keep away and chase! He's a friendly guy who enjoys being part of the family activities and adventures.

Ideal Home

Rusty would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard, as he is not off-leash trained and would not be a good apartment dog. He can be a great companion for a couple, a single person, or a family with children over 10 years old, as his excitement might overwhelm younger children. He's dog-friendly with medium to large breeds, both male and female, and could be an only dog or have a canine sibling. His interaction with cats is unknown.

Rusty is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative, and has been microchipped.

Training & Support

Rusty is potty-trained and crate-trained, with no accidents in his foster home. He knows his basic commands and is motivated by food and treats. While he was previously reported to have accidents at the shelter, he has been perfect in his foster home. He rides well in the car and doesn't exhibit any anxiety.
