Beans is a sweet and silly adult female Basset Hound who is eager for connection. She came to us from a hoarding situation where she was one of 15 dogs living in overwhelming conditions with no consistent care. Beans had an unknown number of litters before coming into rescue. Her nails had grown long enough to change how she walks, and she was dealing with bald spots, fleas, and heartworm. Thankfully, the rescue is covering her vetting, and none of her past hardships seem to have touched her spirit. Beans is affectionate to the point of demanding it - she wants all of your attention, all the time, and she'll ask for it clearly and often. She gets along easily with other dogs and doesn't seem to hold onto the hardship of where she came from. She's low to the ground in that classic Basset way, and about as food-focused as you'd expect from the breed. She's looking for more than a quiet corner to recover in; she's looking for people.
Ideal Home
Beans would do best in a home that has time for her – someone who wants a dog underfoot, leaning on a leg, or asking for a scratch mid-task. Another dog in the home would suit her well, given how easily she gets along with others.
Ongoing Health
Beans is being treated for fleas and heartworm. The rescue is covering all of her vetting costs.
