Toby

Toby is a charming 8 1/2-year-old, 12-pound male long-haired Dachshund mix with a luxurious blonde, fluffy coat. He's neutered, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped. Toby is a devoted and loving companion, happiest when he's curled up on his person's lap. He's a calm, timid, and unassuming little dog who enjoys leisurely walks and car rides. Toby also has a playful side; he loves his stuffed raccoon and lamb toys, carrying them around like security blankets when he's excited. He's an excellent little watchdog and has a funny quirk of barking at dogs on television!

Ideal Home

Toby would thrive in a quiet home with a single female person who can offer him consistent companionship and affection. He needs a home with few visitors, as he can bite visitors and needs to be confined to another room when guests arrive. He is not suited for a busy life or a family with children.

Ongoing Health

Toby's long, fluffy hair requires regular attention to prevent matting. Daily brushing and professional grooming are essential for his coat's health and appearance.

Training & Support

Toby is house-trained and will alert you when he needs to go outside, though he prefers not to use a dog door. While he gets along with the other female dogs in his foster home, he can become possessive if they get too close to his person. His tendency to bite visitors means he needs to be safely managed when guests are present.
