Sansa is a charming Chihuahua–Cocker Spaniel mix, born on April 18, 2025, and currently weighing around 10 lbs. She's a loving, happy, and playful pup who was surrendered to our shelter when her family could no longer care for her. Despite her past, Sansa remains optimistic and is eager to find her forever family to start her next chapter with. She is affectionate, sweet, and loves to play, making her a delightful companion.
Ideal Home
Sansa would thrive in a home that offers love and consistency to help her build confidence and feel secure. She enjoys the company of cats, other dogs, children, men, and women. While she may bark at strangers initially, it's her way of being alert and protective, and she warms up with patience and reassurance. A home with a fenced backyard is preferred.
Ongoing Health
Sansa has received a comprehensive health protocol including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchip, a negative 4DX and heartworm test, and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection. She also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Sansa is crate trained and does her business in the yard. However, it's important to note that she is not house-trained, a common characteristic of rescued animals who require time and patience to adapt. We emphasize that our rescued dogs may need an adjustment period, and patience, understanding, and consistency are crucial for building trust and a strong bond. Families with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, are encouraged to apply.

Transportation
Sansa is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel. We organize 3-4 cross-country trips per year for door-to-door delivery. A transport fee of $400 USD covers the journey from Mexico to your home, including all necessary paperwork and health certificates. Our partnered transport company ensures a safe and comfortable trip, with real-time updates provided to adopters.
