Tommy is a roughly 10-month-old male terrier mix who weighs about 27 lbs and is expected to reach around 37 lbs. He was born on April 10, 2024, after his pregnant mother was rescued. Tommy is a sweet and affectionate boy who is learning to trust people and can be a little shy and nervous around new acquaintances. He absolutely loves to run and play with his doggy friends, showing a very active and playful spirit.
Ideal Home
Tommy would thrive in a home with families who have an open conscience about the needs of rescue animals and are willing to provide protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly recommended, as is a high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies. He is not house-trained and requires an adopter who understands that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma and will need an adjustment period.
Ongoing Health
Tommy has a comprehensive health protocol that includes a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test certificate, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He also has a health certificate and a vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Tommy is not house-trained and will require patience and consistency in this area. He is still learning to trust new people and may be a bit shy or nervous initially. Adopters should be prepared for an adjustment period and understand that his behaviors stem from his past experiences as a rescue.

Transportation
Tommy is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation to the adopter's home address is available for an additional fee.
