Ash

Ash is a 9-year-old German Shepherd who is entirely devoted to her human leader. She's made incredible progress with her separation anxiety, now able to be alone for up to 6 hours. Ash finds comfort in carrying and nibbling on soft plush toys, which helps soothe her nerves.

Ideal Home

Ash would thrive in a home with a confident leader who can help guide her social interactions. She currently lives peacefully with a 10-year-old male dog, but she has a severe and ongoing conflict with a 12-year-old female dog, which has resulted in injuries. Due to this, Ash cannot be in a home with other female dogs.

Ongoing Health

Ash is on daily Prozac to help manage her anxiety and keep her baseline stress manageable.

Training & Support

Ash lacks the basic "language" of dog play and can be "clumsy" and erratic in her interactions. Other dogs often interpret her energy as a threat. Once Ash is in a conflict, she does not respect "back off" signals and must be physically managed by her handler. She is highly food-motivated, which can be used to keep her focus. Ash gets very excited when the leash appears but settles into a manageable walk once moving.
