Nakita is a happy, bubbly, and absolutely adorable little girl who came to us at the end of August. She arrived from a reservation after likely being hit by a car, weighing only 5 pounds with a broken pelvis and no control over her bodily functions. Despite receiving a poor prognosis from multiple emergency hospitals and even recommendations for euthanasia, Nakita is a resilient survivor who proved everyone wrong! She moves around wonderfully on all four legs, runs, jumps, and plays just like any other dog. Nakita is full of personality, and her bright spirit shines through, making everyone she meets fall in love with her.
Ideal Home
Nakita is a special needs dog who is urinary incontinent. She needs a loving family who doesn't mind some extra cleanup and is willing to use diapers for her for the rest of her life.
Ongoing Health
Nakita is urinary incontinent, which will be a lifelong condition. She has regained most of her control over #2. She is spayed, vaccinated for DHPP, rabies, and bordatella, microchipped, dewormed, and fecal tested. She has also started on preventatives.
Training & Support
While Nakita has regained most of her bowel control, her urinary incontinence will require ongoing management with diapers and extra cleaning. We recommend researching the stages of pet transition (3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months) to help you understand and support Nakita as she settles into her new home.
