Freedom is a 2-year-old, 90-pound Shepherd mix who is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. He's a sweet, silly, and goofy boy who is learning what it means to be loved and feel safe. After a tough start, Freedom is ready to leave his past behind and embrace a brighter future with a loving family. He forms deep bonds with his people once he feels comfortable and loves to play and zoom around the yard like a puppy. Freedom enjoys puzzle toys and enrichment games that keep his clever mind engaged. He's amazing on leash and loves connecting with his people, whether on a walk or lounging after playtime. Freedom can be a bit nervous with new people initially, but with patience and love, he opens up into a loyal and devoted companion. He is house-trained and crate-trained and walks well on a leash, showing no reactivity to people or dogs. Freedom also rides well in the car.
Ideal Home
Freedom would thrive in a quiet, loving home with structure and routine. He needs a secure yard to safely enjoy his zoomies. He is looking for a patient adopter who will allow him to build confidence at his own pace. While he can be a bit nervous at first with new people, he is good with adults and kids once he feels comfortable. He is also good with other dogs, provided introductions are slow and methodical. He is unknown with cats. Freedom cannot live in an apartment.
Ongoing Health
Freedom has food allergies and cannot have beef or chicken in his diet. He currently eats Kirkland salmon kibble.
Training & Support
Freedom is house-trained and crate-trained. He walks well on a leash and is not leash reactive. He is not destructive and not food aggressive. He can be a bit nervous with new people initially, so patience and allowing him to build confidence at his own pace is key. He whines or cries when playing. He is a flight risk.
