Magnolia is a beautiful 6-year-old, 30lb Plotthound Mix with a sweet, shy, and timid nature. She's a real diamond in the rough, and with slow and steady love, she's blossoming into her best self! Magnolia’s brindle coat and white socks make her a stunning girl, but beneath her good looks is a heart full of kindness. She’s had a challenging past, with limited positive human interaction and a struggle for basic necessities, but she’s come so far! She’s grown in confidence with one-on-one staff attention and weekend getaways, even developing impressive lap skills. Magnolia is gentle and sweet, and once she trusts you, she’s a huge snuggle bug. You’ll see her kindness right away, and though she might dart occasionally, she’ll introduce herself with a shy wag of her tail on a first meeting. She’s proven to be a great traveler, comfortable in a crate as her safe space and tolerant of baths. Housetraining is still a work in progress, but she’s learning! She’s even starting to understand toys, though she’s still pondering the purpose of chasing a ball. While she came from a larger group of dogs, Magnolia can become overwhelmed by other canines and may show her teeth. However, she can coexist with calm, polite dogs who give her space, and even has a larger dog roommate she’s doing well with. The sky is the limit for Magnolia, and if you’re looking for an underdog to nurture with patience and love, she’d be thrilled to meet you!
Ideal Home
Magnolia would thrive in a home where she can continue to build her confidence. She can be overwhelmed by dogs and may show her teeth if feeling threatened, so a home with calm, polite dogs who give her space would be ideal.

Magnolia arrived underweight, but she is gaining and doing well.
Training & Support
Magnolia is working on housetraining and is still figuring out the concept of toys. With patience and positive reinforcement, she will continue to blossom.
