Jane Goodall

Jane is a 9-year-old, 60-pound bundle of goofy, friendly, and gentle energy! While her namesake studied chimpanzees in the wild, Jane prefers observing humans from the comfort of a cozy couch. She's calm, curious, and quietly charming, building her own peaceful little "research station" wherever there are snacks, pets, and a warm lap nearby. Jane gets along beautifully with people, dogs, and even cats, always choosing diplomacy over drama. If you're looking for a gentle companion with excellent observation skills and a PhD in relaxation, she's ready to begin a lifelong field study with you. Jane was found as a stray in Selma, Alabama.

Ideal Home

Jane would thrive in a home where she can relax and observe. She gets along well with children, dogs, and cats.

Ongoing Health

Jane has received a general health check, is up-to-date on vaccinations, and has been microchipped. Any immediate medical needs and medical history will be discussed with the adopter prior to adoption. Complete vet records will be sent shortly after adoption.

Training & Support

Jane is described as having a low energy level. She is known to be the "belle of the ball" and loves meeting new people.

• Jane is eligible for our limited foster-to-adopt program, which gives approved adopters the chance to welcome a dog into their home and get to know them before finalizing an adoption. The foster-to-adopt period typically lasts 2–4 weeks. Please note your interest in this program on your adoption application.
