About Andy Oakley aka Oakley

Hi there! I'm Andy Oakley, but you can call me Oakley! I'm a handsome Golden Retriever mix who was born on July 11, 2020. Everyone says I'm an amazing dog, and I love to agree! I'm a perfect gentleman in the house and I'm already potty trained. Walks are one of my favorite things, and I absolutely love spending quality time with my favorite humans. While I can get along with other animals, I think I'd be happiest being the only dog in the house, though I wouldn't mind sharing my space with a feline friend or two. I'm also open to a home with older kids (15+) who understand when I need a little personal space and when I'm ready for some cuddles. It's important for my new family to know that I can be a bit particular about being petted and prefer not to be too close unless I initiate it – I'll definitely let you know when I'm ready for some affection!

Ideal Home

Oakley would prefer to be the only dog in the home, but he wouldn't mind sharing with a cat or two. Older children (15+) would be best, as they can understand his cues for needing personal space. He needs a home where his personal space is respected and he isn't always expected to be petted or close.

Training & Support

Oakley can take some time to warm up and trust people. He has also been known to guard his food, so having his own personal space for meals is recommended. We suggest working with one of our free trainers for a session or two to help with this.
