Thelma

Thelma is a sweet girl, estimated to be 2-3 years old. When she first arrived, she was very thin, which may explain why she's a bit selective with other dogs. We believe this behavior stems from fear and a past where she may have had to compete for resources. Despite her past challenges, Thelma is a resilient spirit who is ready for a loving home.

Ideal Home

Thelma would do best in a home where she can feel safe and secure. Her selective nature with other dogs suggests she might thrive in a home where she can be the only canine companion or with a very carefully selected, calm, and understanding dog friend.

Ongoing Health

Thelma has a severely broken left front leg that was not treated. This has resulted in a bent limb, but it is usable. We want to be upfront about this condition as it is a part of her history.

Training & Support

Given her past experiences, Thelma may benefit from continued positive reinforcement and patience to build her confidence, especially around other animals. Understanding her potential fear-based reactions to other dogs will be key to helping her thrive.
