Magical Sapphire

Magical Sapphire is a beautiful, approximately 1-year-old female German Shepherd mix who weighs around 32 lbs. She was transferred from Texas and is now in a foster home learning the ropes of home life. Sapphire is a bit cautious and timid with new people, but once she knows you, she is very friendly and affectionate. She enjoys spending time with her known humans and can be playful and energetic. Sapphire is leash-trained and loves walks, though she appreciates a little encouragement on less-than-ideal weather days. She gets along well with other dogs her size and enjoys playtime in the yard with her canine companions. While she has an independent spirit, she also values her rest time. Sapphire is a quick learner and is gaining confidence every day, making her hopeful for her forever home.

A loving family with patience who can help Sapphire continue to gain confidence. She enjoys the company of other dogs her size.

Ongoing Health

Sapphire has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), which means she cannot properly digest food and absorb nutrients. She is currently on a daily enzyme supplement that has greatly improved her condition and weight gain. She will need to remain on this supplement for life. She also does best with 2-3 meals a day and no snacks.

Training & Support

Some additional training is recommended to help Sapphire adjust to a new environment. She is housetrained and leash-trained.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• You must fill out a pre-adoption application on our website.
• Please do not set up an appointment to meet animals until you are ready to adopt.
• If an approved match is made, you can often take your pet home the same day or within a couple of days.
• We have a 30-day trial period. If the adoption isn't a good match, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the pet's return.
• Adopters must return the pet to us if they are ever unable or unwilling to care for the animal.

Transportation

Magical Sapphire is located in Mukwonago, WI. Adopters must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet. We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI. We do not ship our pets.
