Ma'am

Ma'am is a sweet and loving Lab mix who is just under two and a half years old. She's eager for sniffy trotting walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures her new humans can dream up. She'd love to make pup pals along the way and is looking for a place to call her own, where she can feel safe and loved. Ma'am has so much love and loyalty to give to her forever family.

Ideal Home

Ma'am would love to have friends to romp with, but we haven't seen her with cats or children. She's looking for a home where she can go on adventures and have plenty of opportunities for sniffy walks.

Ongoing Health

Ma'am tested positive for heartworms, but she is receiving treatment through our rescue. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets and is a result of mosquito bites. While it can be life-threatening if left untreated, with proper treatment and ongoing monthly preventative medication, dogs can live full and active lives with no significant long-term effects. She will need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after her treatment is complete. We are happy to discuss her treatment progress with potential adopters.

Training & Support

We cannot guarantee if Ma'am is housebroken, but she is working on her crate training.

Ma'am is currently at our South Carolina rescue campus. She needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to be transported there.
