Happy Hanky Wiggles of Joy

You know how some dogs you can just look at an know they are happy, friendly, and good company? That was exactly how I felt the moment I saw Hanky. If pure joy were a dog, it would be Hanky Baby. He is estimated to be just under 1 year old, so he has his happy personality paired with the wiggles and sweetness of puppyhood. Simply, he is the definition of happy-go-lucky, friendly, affectionate, social, and always ready to make a new best friend. Hanky has been fostered in a loving home, which means he is house and crate trained and has a great foundation of house manners. His foster family reported that Hanky is a lover who enjoys being around people and will happily sit at your feet. He is super sweet with children, and even though he is a puppy, he doesn't jump on them and just wants to be near them. Hanky cannot meet a stranger, be it people, dogs, or cats; he just wants to play and be in the middle of all the fun. He has a sweet puppy personality and doesn't want any drama, just a good time! Hanky loves people with his whole heart and greets everyone as if they are his most favorite person (because in his world, at that moment, they are!). He comes in for love and is quick to soak up any offerings of affection. He is the epitome of a dog that will make you smile even on a bad day. Plus, he already knows "sit," so he is pretty much perfect! If you want to teach him a few more things, you'll be happy to know his sweet nature is perfectly paired with a boy who will work for a treat. That treat motivation and eagerness to please make him a dream to teach, and he will quickly pick up more skills as he grows. Hanky is perfectly social with other dogs and adapts his playstyle beautifully to playmates of different personalities. He is respectful with calmer dogs, happy to romp with playful ones, and shows excellent puppy communication, even backing off politely when the bigger dogs get overwhelming. With a gentle, medium-energy dog at home, he would have the perfect buddy to grow up with. He did wonderfully with the cat during his assessment and is at the ideal age to learn good manners around feline friends. With guidance and consistency, he can absolutely become a cat-compatible household member. Hanky Baby is an active boy who would thrive with a family that enjoys walks, hikes, outings, and positive training. Older kids would be a better match at this stage, simply because he is still mastering the art of containing his enthusiasm and those bouncy greetings, but this will train away. If your kids know how to say "NO!" then he will be a perfect fit. He is sunshine in puppy form—sweet, loving, eager, and ready to grow into the very best version of himself. One area he will need continued guidance is on-leash walking, but he is responsive, sensitive in all the right ways, and thrives when someone shows him what's expected.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
