Jake is a handsome young Mountain Cur / Retriever mix who is pretty perfect! He LOVES people and is happiest when he's by their side. His eyes shine, he smiles, and his whole body wiggles with anticipation of pets or a game of fetch. This incredibly sweet and affectionate boy has a beautiful, soft rust-colored coat and currently weighs 50 pounds. Jake walks well on a leash but can get spooked, so he'll need a mindful person who can keep him secure if he becomes frightened. He absolutely loves playing in the yard, and a secure, fenced yard is a must. He's an energetic retrieving enthusiast who would play fetch all day if he could! Jake is eager to go on hikes, walks, runs, or car rides, and he has a calm and mindful demeanor. He's super smart and knows some basic commands. Jake is house-trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He's looking for his special person or family to bond with, and this amazing young dog deserves a second chance at a loving life. Jake will thrive in a home environment where the quiet and consistency will do wonders for him. He was non-reactive to a neighbor's dog in his foster home, but a meet-and-greet will be required if there are other dogs in the home. He likes cats too! This boy is a true gem!
