Ladybug is a sweet, vibrant young girl who weighs about 12 lbs and is approximately 2 years old. She was rescued from a reservation in Manitoba after a traumatic attack by larger dogs, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of function in her hind legs. Due to her injuries, Ladybug is also incontinent and requires regular bladder and bowel expressions, meaning she cannot be house-trained. Expressing her bladder is quite simple and needs to be done about three times a day – we're happy to teach you how! Despite her challenges, Ladybug has a fun-loving personality, adores cuddling with her people, and soaks up affection. She can be a little shy with new faces, so it's important to allow her time to warm up to strangers. Ladybug is not a fan of children and should be in a home without any, now or in the future. She gets around with the help of wheels, which she loves to use for walks, and she also enjoys rides in a wagon on sunny days. Everyone who gets to know her falls in love with her sweet nature. Ladybug is comfortable with dogs her own size or slightly larger, provided introductions are managed carefully. She should be in a safe, padded area when unsupervised to prevent injury. She is protective of high-value food and treats when other dogs are around, so it's best to keep those items out of reach. She gets along well with cats. As she is uncomfortable around large dogs due to her past trauma, a home without them is required.
