About Coraline

Coraline is a sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix who currently weighs 45 lbs. She's estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. Coraline has an irresistible quirky charm that will have you laughing every day. Her favorite game is peek-a-boo, and she'll patiently wait for you to notice her before she does happy zoomies. Coraline is deeply people-oriented and loves to be near her humans, following them around like a shadow. She's not overly clingy but shows affection with sweet puppy kisses or by resting a paw or her nose against your leg. She has an impressively calm and balanced temperament, making her a great work-from-home buddy, happy to entertain herself quietly. Coraline is also incredibly social with people and other dogs, calmly greeting new friends before happily trotting off. She's the best of both worlds: playful yet laid back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive. She'll be your little sidekick, shadow, and best friend all in one.

Ideal Home

Coraline would thrive in a home that enjoys a mix of adventure and relaxation, from leisurely walks and outdoor patio outings to cozy evenings on the couch. She's happy to join you on short walks around the neighborhood or longer hikes and beach trips. She benefits from a family that understands she's not the most confident in busy public areas, but with more exposure and socialization, she has the potential to be an amazing outdoor adventure buddy. She would adore a family that includes her in their outdoor adventures while also appreciating her calm, affectionate nature at home. She needs to live in a home with a fenced yard and no apartments or condos due to her size and potential nervousness in busy areas. Coraline absolutely needs another dog in her forever home, as she thrives with canine companionship. She could happily live with older children and cats, but given her size and puppy energy, she could accidentally knock over very young children.

Ongoing Health

Coraline is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, and is microchipped. She is current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. She has received a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and has had any necessary vet care while in rescue.

Training & Support

Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She sleeps in her kennel at night with no fuss but enjoys sleeping in bed with her foster mom. She uses doggy stairs to get on and off the bed. She is treat-motivated and will walk beside you with rewards. She needs additional practice to perfect her leash walking skills and build confidence in new environments. She alerts her foster mom when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can use a doggy door. She needs to be taken out every 3-4 hours initially and kept on a consistent schedule until she settles into her new routine. Using a doggy doorbell by the back door is recommended if a doggy door is not available.
