Heath

Heath is a beautiful, gentle hound who is about a year old and weighs approximately 45 lbs. He arrived at our noisy facility from a foster home and is still a bit shy in new environments. Heath is happier hiding under a desk than walking on a leash, but he is showing improvement every day. He is most comfortable with other dogs, especially when playing outside. Heath is quiet, never complains, barks, or whines. While he is initially cautious of hands, he doesn't growl or snap. After a few minutes of gentle petting, he begins to relax and enjoy the attention. Heath isn't the type of dog to jump up and greet you boisterously, but he is learning to trust and enjoy human interaction. He truly shines when he has the company of other dogs, making him a great candidate to be a companion to another canine friend.

Ideal Home

Heath would thrive in a home with experienced adopters who understand that fearful dogs can be flight risks. He would likely do best in a home with at least one other dog.

Heath is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Heath is still working on leash walking and building confidence with people. Patience and gentle encouragement will go a long way in helping him feel secure. His shyness means he needs time to warm up to new people and situations.
