Meet Brody – a 5-year-old, 65-pound neutered male Cattle Dog/Pitbull mix with a perfect blend of playful energy and easygoing charm. Brody is currently in a foster home in Houston, Texas, and is ready to transport out of state once his forever family is approved.
Brody is the wonderful balance of being active enough for outdoor adventures and mellow enough for a lazy day of cuddles. He's a lovable goofball who doesn't mind dressing up for holidays, as long as he's with his people.
Ideal Home
Brody has done best with friendly, laid-back female dogs and prefers a relaxed playmate. He could be too much for smaller or timid dogs, but he's also content being an only pup, as long as he has space for zoomies. A home with a secure backyard is ideal. He's a gentle sweetheart with people and has done well with children. We recommend a home with older, dog-savvy kids (8-10+) who understand how to respectfully interact with dogs. Brody would love a buddy to play and snuggle with. No cats for Brody, please.

Training & Support
Brody is a gentleman on the leash, walks calmly, and stays close. He is fully housebroken and crate trained, doing wonderfully when left unsupervised. He loves his plush toys and enjoys giving them enthusiastic "customizations." Brody is smart, food-motivated, and eager to please. He thrives with structure, consistency, and encouragement. His foster mom has helped him polish his obedience skills. While he may get excited around assertive male dogs, with calm guidance and positive experiences, he continues to adapt well. He would be a great match for someone with experience with Cattle Dogs, Pitbulls, or other intelligent working breeds. He doesn't need a super active lifestyle, but he would love daily walks, light adventures, and activities like scent work, agility, or obedience classes to keep his mind sharp.
