Loki

Meet Loki! This adorable 3-year-old Terrier mix weighs about 11 pounds and has a charming wire-haired coat. Loki is a calm and well-mannered pup who loves to be close to his people. He enjoys car rides and is a loyal companion for anyone seeking a devoted best friend. Loki gets along wonderfully with dogs, children, men, and women. When first meeting new people, he can be a bit shy and cautious, needing a little time and gentle reassurance to warm up. Once he feels safe, his sweet personality truly shines, and he'll be eager for affection and cuddles. Loki's journey began as a stray in Saltillo, Mexico, where concerned community members ensured his safety. Though he received care at a veterinary clinic, he was never reclaimed. We were then able to bring him into our rescue program, providing him with the veterinary attention and love he deserved. Now, Loki is healthy, safe, and ready to find his forever family. He's looking for a patient adopter who will give him the space he needs to feel secure, and who will cherish having such a devoted companion by their side.

Ideal Home

A home with a fenced backyard is preferred. An active family who enjoys outdoor activities would be a great fit. This is an ideal opportunity for families with a genuine intention to rescue a dog, understanding the need for protection and education for street animals, and who possess experience in dog behavior and training, or are willing to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience for rescued pups are essential.

Ongoing Health

Loki has received a spay/neuter certificate, 2 DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, and a Bordetella vaccine. He has been dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm. He is up-to-date on monthly preventive protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworm with Nexgard Spectra. A health certificate and vaccine booklet are also available.

Training & Support

Loki is not house-trained. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences. Patience, understanding, and establishing a routine are crucial to help Loki feel secure and build trust.

Application Details:

• Applications begin by contacting us through Wags.
• Fill out our adoption form and provide photos/videos of your home for review.
• If there's a potential match, we'll schedule a call or video chat to introduce you to Loki and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
• Upon approval, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover veterinary care, vaccinations, microchipping, and more.

Transporation

Loki is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. A transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery. We organize 3-4 trips per year with a contracted transport company that collects pets in Mexico. They will escort pets across the border into Texas for US adoptions. A dedicated team will deliver Loki directly to your home, conducting a final home review to ensure a smooth transition. Regular updates on Loki's journey will be provided through a private Facebook Messenger group.
