So you can sleep tight

About Poppy

Poppy is a total sweetheart and a great all-around family dog who you will be proud to call "our girl"! She's happiest when lounging in the sun or napping next to you on the couch, and she even sleeps at the end of the bed by your feet. Poppy is completely housetrained and has never had an accident inside. She'll let you know when she's ready for playtime with her tennis ball or a walk by giving you a look and a bark. She came to us three years ago with severe separation anxiety, but she's come a long way and does well for a few hours in her "indestructible" crate, especially with a peanut butter-filled Kong. Poppy is looking for a home where she can be the center of your world, and she'll repay you with unconditional love and companionship.

Ideal Home

Poppy would love a home where she can be the star of the show. She has been around small children with no issues. However, she has issues with smaller dogs and has bitten them when provoked or feeling jealous, so no smaller dogs in her new family. She plays well with bigger dogs and is looking for a home where she can be the center of your world.

Ongoing Health

Poppy is overall very healthy with no major issues. She has had a complete vetting and all her shots.

Training & Support

Poppy has separation anxiety and would not do well for long days without someone home. It is highly recommended that she be crated while alone to avoid any damage to property. She can get overly excited, pulling and barking when she sees another dog, so continued leash training and reinforcement are encouraged. She knows basic commands like sit, shake, and come.
