Meet Peanut Butter! This 14-year-young Chihuahua mix is a tiny soul with a big personality and a heart that refuses to be overlooked. He was found on a euthanasia list at a rural shelter, but our volunteers saw something special in his wise little eyes and made sure he got his second chance.
Peanut Butter is a gentleman of contrasts. One moment, he's a crotchety old man grumbling his opinions about the world. The next, he's a soft, sleepy sweetheart, curled up in your lap like he's always been there. That's part of his charm! He's very clear about his boundaries and prefers not to be picked up. He'll let you know with a quick nip if he's uncomfortable, and he isn't a fan of anything going over his head, so collars and harnesses aren't his style.
Ideal Home
Peanut Butter is looking for a quiet, adult-only home where he can truly relax and be himself. He needs a securely fenced yard where he can safely enjoy the outdoors on his own terms. He gets along just fine with calm, respectful dogs who understand he's a senior who values his space.
Ongoing Health
Peanut Butter is a senior dog and values his space.
Training & Support
Peanut Butter mostly uses pee pads and occasionally will let you know when he'd like to go outside. He'll give you fair warning when he's not in the mood, but if you meet him where he is—sit on the floor or a low seat—he'll toddle over, climb into your lap, and drift off to sleep as you gently pet him. Patience and understanding are key to seeing his softer side.
