About Trix

Trix is an 8-month-old, 35-pound Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul, though she's a bit shy! She and her brother were surrendered to a shelter, and while he's found his home, Trix needed some extra time in foster care to build her confidence. She was significantly undersocialized early in life, and her baseline is fear of humans. However, she's never shown any reactivity, simply looking for a safe place to hide when unsure. She's gentle, quiet, and incredibly observant, picking things up quickly – she mastered the doggy door in just a couple of days! With patience and trust-building, Trix begins to soften and can even be found playing with toys, running with other dogs, and eventually curling up with her humans.

Ideal Home

Trix will need a home where someone is around more often than not, as she's still a puppy and building trust takes time and consistency. She's not a ready-made confident dog and requires patience, compassion, and commitment. She does well with other dogs after proper acclimation, and we strongly believe she would thrive with a confident canine companion to follow and learn from. Adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building. She has been around kids and was shy at first. Her history with cats is unknown.

Ongoing Health

Trix is spayed.

Training & Support

Trix is housebroken and loves her crate. She is learning to walk on a leash. She is a diamond in the rough who will require patience, compassion, and commitment. The reward for investing in her will be extraordinary, watching her discover that the world isn't so scary and that she is safe and loved.
