Gumball

Gumball is a young, spunky, and playful pup who originally came from the Brownfield Texas shelter. He's been there before, but unfortunately, his owner never returned for him this time. Gumball is a very alpha dog and plays wonderfully with younger and more submissive dogs in our rescue. However, he can be very aggressive towards other dominant male dogs, and even dominant females, although his biggest issues have been with two dominant males. This aggression unfortunately led to an incident where another dog strained its neck, and Gumball pulled a muscle in his right eye, causing it to become crooked. While this cosmetic change can't be corrected, it doesn't affect his vision or his amazing, playful personality.

Ideal Home

Gumball would ideally thrive in a home where he can be the only dog. While he enjoys the company of younger and submissive dogs, his history of aggression with dominant dogs makes an only-dog household the safest and happiest option for him.

Ongoing Health

Gumball sustained an injury to his right eye during an altercation with another dog. He pulled a muscle, which resulted in the eye becoming crooked. This condition cannot be corrected but does not impact his vision.

Training & Support

Gumball is a very playful and energetic dog. His main behavioral need is to be managed carefully around other dominant dogs due to his aggressive tendencies towards them. An understanding and consistent owner who can provide leadership and structure will help Gumball feel secure.
