Dixie

Dixie is a sweet, snuggly, pocket-sized Pitty who weighs around 30 pounds. She's a blue-nosed white Pit Bull who loves to be held like a baby and is looking for a home where she can be your shadow. Dixie was returned to a shelter due to her breed and a mild case of demodex mange, but she's now healthy and ready for her forever family. She's still working on her crate training and does best when not left alone for more than five hours. Dixie is great with kids, but due to her playful nature, a home with older children or a strong-willed owner who can teach her the rules would be ideal. She also gets along best with dogs her own size or smaller, or those who are more submissive, as she can sometimes be a bit dominant. Dixie needs a yard where she can explore and hunt for lizards, and she also enjoys climbing!

Ideal Home

A home with a yard is a must for Dixie, as she loves to explore and hunt lizards. She would do best with older children or a strong-willed owner to help her learn the ropes. Dixie also prefers to be matched with dogs her own size or smaller, or those who are more submissive.

Ongoing Health

Dixie was treated for mild demodex mange and is now healthy.

Training & Support

Dixie is currently working on her crate training and does best when not left alone for more than five hours. She can sometimes be dominant with other dogs and needs gentle guidance to manage her Napoleon complex.
