Meet Gemma - A Brave Survivor Ready for Her Soft Landing Some dogs show us what true resilience looks like, Gemma is one of them. Found in La Cruz with a severe TVT tumor, she had every reason to give up, but she did not give up.. She fought, she healed, and today she is cancer free, carrying only a small scar as a reminder of her strength. She deserves comfort, love, and a family who sees the beauty in her journey.

Who Gemma Is Today: Moderately active, loves strolls and sunbathing Gets along with most dogs (she prefers being the confident one) Lives peacefully with male and female dogs every day Sweet, steady, and full of quiet affection Cancer free. She will just need a simple cytology swab every 6 months for 2 years. (TVT rarely returns. Many of our TVT survivors have gone on to live long, happy lives.)

Approved adopters are matched with flight companions (flight angels) traveling from Puerto Vallarta. You will meet them at the airport to welcome your new pup home.

It can be challenging to secure Canadian flight angels during May and June, so dogs may need to fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border if a Canadian flight angel is unavailable.

We have successfully completed many adoptions over the summer with volunteers helping to bring dogs to their adopters at the border. This remains a great option to keep adoptions moving forward.
