Caesar Adopt or Foster-to-Adopt available

Caesar is a handsome 3-year-old German Shepherd with a lot of love to give! He was surrendered by his previous family because they couldn't provide him with the exercise and mental stimulation he needs. Caesar is a smart boy who enjoys being outdoors and loves water. He can be a bit mouthy during play, so he'd do best in a home without small children. He's about 59 lbs and looking for an experienced owner who can help him thrive!

Ideal Home

Caesar would do best in a home with someone who has experience with large breeds and understands the need for significant exercise and enrichment. He needs a patient owner who can help him manage his excitement and redirection when he gets worked up. Due to his mouthy play style, he should not be placed in a home with small children. He does well with other chill, playful dogs when meeting face-to-face but can be barrier reactive.

Ongoing Health

Caesar is fully vetted, including deworming, flea and tick treatment, and microchipping.

Training & Support

Caesar can get aroused and worked up easily, and his current foster is working on helping him self-calm, especially during play, to reduce mouthiness. He is barrier reactive and benefits from having chew toys or other items to redirect his energy. We highly recommend a 2-week shutdown and decompression period for Caesar to help him adjust to his new home. Housetraining with rescue dogs can be a work in progress, and an adjustment period should be expected. We also offer a rebate for completing positive-based training classes.
