Elmo

Elmo is a sweet, resilient, and quietly brave 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix who came to us after being shot in the hip. Thankfully, the bullet lodged near his spine has become encapsulated, and specialists agree that leaving it is far less risky than attempting removal. This medical history does not define Elmo's future; he is healthy, comfortable, and expected to live a long, happy life. He enjoys his walks, his people, and his canine friends. He is good with other dogs, loves people, and has a particular appreciation for a comfortable dog bed. While he hasn't lived with cats, he showed mild interest, suggesting dog-savvy cats might be okay.

Ideal Home

Elmo would do best in a home that understands he doesn't need to be an adventure athlete to be a wonderful companion. We recommend children over 10 or sturdy kids, as Elmo is still young and will grow into a large dog, and we want children to be old enough to understand his medical needs.

Ongoing Health

The bullet lodged near Elmo's spine has become encapsulated and is not expected to cause him any issues. He is otherwise healthy and comfortable.

Training & Support

Elmo is a joyful dog who enjoys walks and human companionship. As he matures into a large dog, his new family should continue to provide him with consistent guidance and positive reinforcement.
