Rocky

Rocky is a shy but incredibly sweet and devoted three-year-old, 55-pound mix of American Staffordshire Terrier, Australian Cattle Dog, and English Shepherd. He's been waiting since March 2024 for a patient adopter who understands that building trust takes time. Rocky is cautious around new people, especially men, and prefers to make introductions on his own terms. However, once he trusts you, he becomes your most loyal companion, showering you with affection and cuddles. He's house-trained, crate-trained, quiet, and loves puzzle toys and treats. Rocky enjoys car rides and calm walks. He needs reassurance and a gentle approach to build his confidence.

Ideal Home

Rocky thrives in a calm, predictable, adult-only home with experienced adopters who understand that confidence cannot be rushed. A securely fenced (non-electric) yard is important for him to explore and build confidence at his own pace. He would do best as the only pet in the home or with slow introductions to smaller, calmer dogs. Cats and small animals are not suitable for his home. He prefers to have his own space when guests visit.

Rocky is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Training & Support

Rocky is house-trained and crate-trained. He is non-destructive and generally quiet. He responds well to positive reinforcement, especially with treats, and enjoys training games. Patience and understanding are key to helping him build confidence.
