Cupcake is a 7-year-old Morkie with a heart of gold and a personality as vibrant as her name! She came to us from a situation of severe neglect, found matted and with painful wounds that have thankfully healed with time and care. Despite her past struggles, Cupcake is a beacon of joy, proving that resilience and sweetness can coexist. She's a delightful mix of playful, cuddly, bossy, and funny, always ready for a game of fetch with her favorite toys or a good tug-of-war. She loves being part of the action, happily snoozing in bed (she's a champion bed hog!) and soaking up all the affection she can get. Her adorable "baby Yoda" ears are just begging for a scratch, and she's a master cuddler who never fails to bring a smile to your face. Cupcake generally gets along well with other dogs and is content being left alone, saving her barks for important announcements like dinner time or a request for couch privileges.
Ideal Home
Cupcake thrives in a home that understands and respects her boundaries. Due to past trauma and a recent leg injury, she can be defensive when feeling uncomfortable or vulnerable, and she is not a dog who tolerates being pushed, restrained, or handled without respect. She needs an experienced adult-only home with individuals who are adept at reading dog body language and are prepared to work with a dog who carries some emotional baggage.
Ongoing Health
Cupcake has fully recovered from the painful wounds and matting she endured. Her front leg wound has healed well.
Training & Support
Cupcake needs patience and understanding as she continues to build trust. Her defensiveness is often linked to pain and guarding, but she also expresses her opinions when things don't go her way. The ideal adopter will be someone who can provide a stable and respectful environment, helping her understand that the world can be a kind and loving place.
