Tonka

Tonka is a 7-year-old male fawn Bouvier who weighs about 102 lbs. He's a sweet boy who is eager to please and very affectionate. Tonka enjoys ear rubs, belly rubs, and snuggling up with his humans while they read. He also loves Milk Bone treats! He travels well in the car and tolerates grooming, including nail clipping, very well. He's even getting used to the idea of having his teeth brushed!

Ideal Home

Tonka would do well in a home that can provide him with plenty of exercise, including three walks a day. He enjoys playing and has shown an aptitude for basic agility, easily clearing a 4-foot fence. While he gets along well with other dogs and enjoys meeting new people and pups, he can be a bit overly exuberant during initial introductions. Slow introductions are recommended for any new furry friends.

Ongoing Health

Tonka received a full veterinarian check-up on February 12, 2026, including blood work and a heartworm test, all of which came back with negative or expected results. He was brought up to date on all vaccinations (rabies, lepto, bordetella, and DA2PP) and had his teeth cleaned in March, along with a booster for lepto. He is currently on year-round Spectrum Sentinel (supply good until February 2027) and Effitix for flea and tick control (6-month supply), both of which he tolerates well.

Training & Support

Tonka is currently working on improving his leash manners and learning more advanced commands, including hand signals.
