Meet Ginger Dominique, a sweet and gentle Basenji mix with a heart full of love to give! This 25-pound bundle of joy, estimated to be born around October 24, 2025, is a social butterfly who loves being at the center of attention, especially when it involves cuddles and affection. Ginger is incredibly gentle with everyone, particularly children. Her foster family has been amazed by how well she interacts with babies and small kids, showing a remarkable understanding and desire to care for them. One heartwarming instance saw Ginger rushing to comfort a toddler who was upset about a toy, offering gentle reassurance and sweet kisses. Once she feels secure, Ginger becomes even more affectionate, forming deep bonds with her people and cherishing quiet companionship. She's also a great friend to cats and other dogs, and a perfect leash walker, always exhibiting good manners despite her puppy curiosity. Ginger's sweet disposition, playful spirit, and engaging curiosity make her a wonderful addition to a home ready for fun and snuggles.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
• Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.
• Listed breed is based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.
• Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
• All of our adopters are invited to join our Alum Pupdates Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!
