A little about them
Kai is a loving 5-year-old Labrador mix rescued from the streets of Guadalajara, where she endured hardship and arrived severely underweight. She is affectionate with people, enjoys cuddles, belly rubs, treats, and spending time with her humans. Kai has medium-to-high energy and would enjoy an active family, regular walks, a backyard, or a running partner.
Ideal Home
Kai would do best with an experienced adopter and as the only pet. She is reactive toward dogs and cats, has shown resource guarding and prey drive, and needs careful management around other animals, including during walks. Her compatibility with children is unknown, though testing can be requested.
Ongoing Health
Kai is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She will come to Canada with proof of her vaccine and test records and will be tested for heartworm before flying. Adopters should be prepared for potential dental work or veterinary expenses, which are not covered by the rescue.
Training & Support
Kai's leash skills are in progress, and a well-fitted harness plus dedicated training may help her succeed. She is reported to be house trained, though she may need continued patience and reinforcement. Crate training and car rides are works in progress. Her adopter should be prepared and willing to work through her prey-drive behaviors and continue training after arrival.
