Valerie

I’m Valerie, a 4½-year-old pit mix with warm brown and white fur, weighing about 46 pounds. My journey to find my forever family has been a bit of a rollercoaster. I was rescued from a tough situation while pregnant and scared, but I found safety and gave birth to my beautiful babies in a loving foster home. That experience made me even stronger and more loving. I’m a natural sweetheart who knows how to sit for treats, enjoys car rides, and walks gently on a leash. I’ve even been walked by a 9-year-old without any issues! I’m incredibly people-oriented and adore attention, whether it’s head scratches, belly rubs, or cuddling up beside you. I’m a "Velcro dog" who loves to be close and “talk” with my people. I’ve never shown aggression towards humans and am extremely gentle with children, even welcoming strangers with happy tail wags. I respond well to guidance and truly aim to please.

Ideal Home

Valerie would do best in a quieter home where she can feel safe and secure, especially as loud noises like fireworks and thunderstorms can make her nervous. She thrives as an only dog and needs a home without any cats, as she has shown she is not safe around them.

Ongoing Health

Valerie is heartworm negative, spayed, and vaccinated. She was on Simparica Trio for heartworm prevention and tolerated it well with no issues.

Training & Support

Valerie is leash, crate, and potty trained. She responds beautifully to corrections and is eager to please.

Valerie is located in Burkesville, KY and can travel to other states to find her perfect match. A fee may apply if volunteer transport is not available.
