Sansa is a darling little girl who looks like a mix of Chihuahua and Cocker Spaniel. She was born on April 18, 2025, making her about 10 months old and weighing a perfect 10 lbs. Sansa was surrendered to us when her previous family could no longer care for her. Despite this change, she's a loving, happy, and playful pup ready for her next chapter with a forever family. She is already potty trained for the yard and crate trained. Sansa gets along well with cats, other dogs, and people of all ages. She may bark at strangers initially, but it's just her way of being alert. With a little patience and reassurance, she warms up beautifully. Sansa is affectionate, sweet, and loves to play. She would thrive in a home that offers love and consistency to help build her confidence and make her feel secure.
Ideal Home
Sansa would do best in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. She needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog, understanding the needs and behaviors of street animals. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are a must.
Ongoing Health
Sansa has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI vaccines, rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, has been dewormed, and is microchipped. She has a negative 4DX test and heartworm test certificate. She is on monthly preventive protection (Nexgard Spectra) and has a health certificate and vaccine booklet. Note that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences.
Training & Support
Sansa is not house-trained, which is common for rescued pets as it's an impossible job for shelters to manage for every animal. She will need patience and understanding to build trust and a strong bond. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will help her feel secure.

- If it's a match, we'll schedule a call or video chat for an introduction and virtual home tour.
- We'll speak with 1-2 of your references.
- If approved, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which covers vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.
Transporation
Sansa is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip. Door-to-door delivery is available for a one-time fee of $400 USD. We organize 3-4 trips per year with our partnered transport company. You will receive real-time updates via a private Facebook Messenger group, including photos and videos of your pet's journey.
