Baltos

Baltos is a delightful Labrador mix, approximately 9 months old and weighing around 20 lbs, with an expected adult weight of about 38 lbs. He's a happy, adaptable puppy with a playful spirit and a heart full of sweetness. Baltos is very social and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, children, and adults, making him a fantastic family companion. While he might be a little cautious when first meeting new people, he warms up quickly with a friendly approach, becoming curious and wagging his tail with joy. Once comfortable, he absolutely loves attention and can't get enough of being petted.

Baltos is a well-rounded pup who uses a crate, walks nicely on a leash, and reliably lets you know when he needs to go outside to potty – a great start for his young age! He adores playtime, especially with his toys, and is happy to entertain himself with a good chew. Baltos is friendly, playful, and eager to learn, making him an excellent choice for a family seeking a loving and fun companion to grow with. This sweet boy is ready to bring tons of joy, playfulness, and affection into his forever home.

Ideal Home

Baltos would thrive in an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a securely fenced backyard. He needs a home with owners who have a real intention to rescue a dog and possess an open mind regarding the behaviors and needs for protection and education common in rescued animals. Previous experience with dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is highly desired. He requires a high level of tolerance and patience for a rescued puppy.

Ongoing Health

Baltos has received a comprehensive health protocol including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, and microchipping. He has also tested negative for Heartworm and has a 4DX test certificate. He is currently on monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra. A vaccination booklet is also provided.

Training & Support

It's important to understand that Baltos, like many rescued dogs, is not house-trained. He will require patience and consistent training to learn this skill. Owners should be prepared for an adjustment period as he adapts to his new environment and family. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will be crucial for his security and to help him build trust.

• You will need to fill out an adoption form.
• Photos and videos of your home are required to ensure a safe environment for your future furry friend.
• If it's a potential match, you'll have a call or video chat, be introduced to the pet, and have a virtual home tour.
• 1-2 references will be contacted.
• Upon approval, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.

Transporation

Baltos is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a cross-country trip. Door-to-door delivery is available for a one-time transport fee of $400 USD. Transport trips are scheduled 3-4 times a year with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. A contracted transport company based in Montana will collect the adopted pets from Mexico. Each pet will have all necessary legal documents, including a Transport Contract and a Health Certificate from the USDA. For US adoptions, pets will be escorted across the border into Texas. For Canadian adoptions, pets will be delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. Real-time updates will be provided through a private Facebook Messenger group, including photos, videos, feeding and walking schedules, and ETAs. The transport team will deliver the pet directly to your home address and conduct a final home review.
