About MELODY

Hola amigos and amigas! My name is Melody, a four-year-old, 44lb Labrador mix with a heart full of love to give. I am a true warrior, having overcome a tough start in life. Rescued as a tiny pup abandoned on a doorstep, I pulled through with the help of a kind rescuer and a trip to the vet. Now, I'm ready for my happy ending and eager to join a loving family! I'm a super friendly cuddlebug who thrives on attention and loves to follow my humans around. I also enjoy playing with toys and other dogs. My foster mom describes me as a gem who needs a family that can give me lots of affection and help me burn off my abundant energy through fun activities and exercise.

Ideal Home

My dream come true would be a family that enjoys an active lifestyle and can include me in their adventures. I do well with kids and other dogs. While I haven't been tested with cats, we can arrange a test if requested. Due to my nervousness in new environments, a double leash with a secure harness is recommended for walks to prevent me from becoming a flight risk.

Ongoing Health

I am spayed and vaccinated. Please note that it's common for rescue dogs to need dental work after adoption. The cost of any dental procedures or future vet visits will be the adopter's financial responsibility.

Training & Support

I'm pretty good with my leash skills but may need some additional patience and training. I'm also reported to be okay with house training but might need some extra guidance. I'm not very familiar with crates or car rides, so patience and training will be key in these areas. West Coast Paws highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives to ensure a smooth transition.

Transporation

I am currently in Puebla, Mexico. Transport to Vancouver is available if a flight volunteer is found, and my adoption fee includes this flight.
