DOUGAL

Dougal is a wonderful 75 lb, approximately 2-year-old Sheepadoodle with a heart of gold! He's a super easy-going and laid-back guy who gets along with all the other rescues in his foster home. In fact, he's so mellow, his foster family often forgets he's around! Dougal isn't a fan of the midday heat and prefers to relax indoors in the air conditioning. However, as the day cools down, he loves to head outside to play with his buddies, enjoy a chew treat, and enthusiastically chase squirrels. He appears to be well-house-trained and generally good on a leash, though he does tend to pull and would benefit from a firm hand.

Ideal Home

Dougal needs a securely fenced yard to keep him safe while he enjoys his outdoor time. He would do best in a home without children under the age of 8.

Ongoing Health

Dougal previously tested positive for heartworms and has completed his treatment according to the American Heartworm Society Protocols. We typically see dogs test negative within 4 to 6 months post-treatment. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Canine Influenza), and are on monthly preventatives for heartworms, fleas/ticks, and parasites.

Training & Support

While Dougal is generally well-behaved and appears house-trained, he does pull on the leash and would benefit from continued leash training with a strong and consistent handler.
