Meet the breeder
Meet Rogue Valley Goldens. Amanda Puckett is from Oregon and breeds Golden Retrievers. Hi - Thanks for taking the time to read a little about our story. My name is Amanda and I live in Southern Oregon with my husband and our 3 children a small flock of chickens a cat and our two Golden Retrievers, Juno and Bear. My love for Golden Retrievers started at a young age. A family member had a Golden and I knew, that was the dog for me! At the age of 19, I saved enough money to buy first Golden, Pearce . He became my best friend and travel companion. We traveled all over the US, before settling down in the beautiful state of Oregon. Everywhere we went people would stop and ask me about Pearce, he was very handsome. He ended up sireing two litters. Fast forward several years, I'm married and our oldest was born. Pearce ended up getting sick a passed away just a month after our daughter was born. It was heart wrenching. After many years were were in a place to be ready for another pet. That's when we met Tucker! Tucker was our first Golden, as a family. He was a quintessential Golden Retriever. Beautiful, strong and of course so loyal. He was everything to our family. And what do you do when you have two kids and dog.....have another baby and get another dog!!! Soon after our third child was born, we brought Bella home and our family was complete. Tucker and Belle became our kids' playmates, adventure pals and great protectors. They were a great duo. They had four healthy litters. That was an incredible time for our family-it's a great gift to witness something as special and miraculous as new life. Tucker and Bella helped raise our children and when Tucker passed away at 13 it was very difficult for our family. He was the dog, they had always known. Bella was quite forlorn and was never really the same after Tucker died. A couple of years after his passing we decided to get Bella a friend. My husband and I traveled to Rainer Washington to adopt our sweet and highly intelligent Juno. She fit right in with our crew. She is a quick learner and had a great wise soul to show here the ropes. Unfortunately just six months after Juno came to us, Bella declined and passed at the age of 11. Juno became our solo dog. This gave us time to work with her and train her. She has become such a wonderful dog. She loves to learn new things and like most Goldens, is eager to please. At about a year, it became apparent that she would do best with a friend. That's when we found Bear. It was love at first sight, for Juno and the humans. Juno and Bear became quick friends, constantly playing, wrestling and even jumping on the trampoline. The are incredibly loving to one another, always cuddling , snuggling or holding paws. They are adorable. Now they have had their first litter of 12 healthy and thriving puppies! After a bit of a pause we are so excited to be raising another litter, while our kids are a little older and see it through a different lens. The notion that these puppies will be making memories and will be someone's best friend is very endearing and heartwarming. It makes us so happy to be able to share this love with others. If you made it to the end-Congratulations! You're a Golden lover too!
