Huey would be the captain of the track team who volunteers on the weekends at the local hospital. He is athletic and personable, a great balance, and it doesn't hurt that he is handsome. The reality though is he is a dog, with legs made for adventure and love to share. We estimate Huey to be around 2 years old and he is a great mid-size boy weighing in at 56 lbs. Huey is so fortunate and has been in a loving foster home while he waits for his adoption day. This is wonderful for him and you! He gets to master all the skills needed to be the best boy and you get a dog that is home-life ready. Huey is incredibly smart, motivated, and responds well to being led with confidence. He thrives with boundaries! Thanks to his foster family, he does great in a crate, is house-trained, and knows how to settle indoors. His fosters shared that he enjoys following his people around, a bit ninja-like, a quiet shadow. He doesn't want to disturb you, just to be close to you. Huey is smart, active, and has a thing for the great outdoors-whether its a mountain trail or a quick ride around town, Huey will be ready to tag along. Bonus- he rides well in the car, likes a good breeze, and wont say no to a nap on the couch after any adventure, big or small. While he can be affectionate, he's not overly needy. Huey has a head start on being the best boy, all the potential and drive, with a lot of love to give. With his very-own forever person, you'll be headed into a really good life together.
Ideal Home
Apartment life is not his favorite. He loves running and playing in the backyard and cannot live without a yard to let loose in. Huey is not suited for long-term living with children, but will be a hit if invited over for visits. He thrives in a calm, structured home.
Ongoing Health
Huey is up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, and has been neutered.
Training & Support
Huey does great in a crate, is house-trained, and knows how to settle indoors. He does not like other dogs attempting to eat his food, but this is easily managed by feeding him and other dogs in their crates. A one-dog household would eliminate any potential tension over mealtime.
