Dove is a 16-month-old, 35lb Chocolate Lab with a gentle soul. She was previously used as a breeder dog and came to us after her time was "finished." While her previous owner was told she was a little timid, Dove was actually quite shut down by fear of people, often having accidents when approached. She is making slow but steady progress, learning to walk on a leash within kennel boundaries and allowing familiar people to sit with her and offer treats. She has also formed a bond with another dog, Ivy, and they have been seen snuggling. Dove has shown no aggression towards people or animals. She has a long journey ahead but shows glimmers of hope for a brighter future.

Ideal Home

Dove needs a patient, calm, and emotionally secure home with experienced owners. A secure, above-ground fenced yard is a must, as she is a flight risk. She would thrive in a home without children or chaos and would benefit greatly from the companionship of another confident and stable dog to help build her trust.

Training & Support

Dove is a work in progress. While she is improving with leash walking and responding to basic commands within familiar environments, she will require significant time, patience, and understanding.
