Fernando Silverio is a charming little gentleman with the sweet disposition of a tiny, grumpy old man. He's calm, well-mannered, and perfectly suited for a home that values peace and quiet. Fernando is social and friendly with other dogs, children, men, and women. He can be a little shy at first, especially when receiving affection, but once he feels safe, his adorable, serious little face will steal your heart. His laid-back nature makes him an ideal companion for those seeking a gentle, low-energy friend. Fernando is patiently waiting for a loving home that will offer him the time and understanding he needs to trust.
Ideal Home
Fernando would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard. He needs an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a genuine intention to rescue a dog, understanding the needs of rescued animals. An open mind regarding their behaviors, a willingness to provide protection and education, and experience with dog behavior and training (or a commitment to hiring a trainer) are essential. He requires high tolerance and patience, as he is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Fernando has received a comprehensive health protocol including: Spay/Neuter Certificate, 2 DHPPI vaccines, Rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test and certificate, a negative heartworm test certificate, and monthly Nexgard Spectra (fleas, ticks, and heartworm) preventative. He also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Fernando is not house-trained. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences and require an adjustment period. Patience, understanding, and establishing a routine will be crucial in building trust and a strong bond with him.
