Vera's journey to us was a difficult one; she was found in dire straits, emaciated and with her eyes sealed shut due to untreated diabetes. Despite her critical condition, she instantly offered affection and has been a sweetheart ever since.

Now, Vera is a healthy and happy girl who navigates her world with confidence, even though she is blind. Her diabetes is well-managed with a strict diet and twice-daily insulin injections. Her foster parent can attest that this management is very straightforward and fits easily into a routine. Vera is a champion when it comes to her injections, barely noticing them! Her diabetes doesn't define her; she's so much more than a medical condition. She’s a wonderfully comforting and sweet sibling to other dogs, having been a fantastic foster sister to many. Humans find her equally comforting, and she thrives on being held and showered with pets, truly being the life of any gathering. Ongoing Health

Vera is managed for diabetes, which requires a strict diet and insulin injections every 12 hours. This routine is very manageable and Vera takes her injections like a champ.

Training & Support

Vera is house-trained and is reported to be a great sibling to other dogs. She is a naturally comforting and affectionate dog.
