Dolly Polly!
Meet Dolly Polly! Dolly is a beautiful 6-9 month-old puppy with a playful spirit, a gentle heart, and so much love to give. She's looking for a family to grow up with and to help her continue learning about the world.
Dolly wakes up every day ready for fun! Whether she's chasing a ball, proudly carrying around one of her favorite toys, going for a short walk (especially when the Georgia heat kicks in), or curling up beside you for cuddles, she's happiest when she's spending time with her people. Belly rubs are one of her favorite things, and a peanut butter-filled Kong has quickly become her new best friend.
For such a young pup, Dolly is already off to an amazing start. She's crate trained, potty trained (she may have a few nervous accidents during her first few days while she settles into a new home), walks nicely on a leash, and already knows commands like sit and off. She's incredibly smart, eager to please, and highly treat motivated, making her a joy to work with. At the end of a fun day, she'll happily sleep through the night in her crate or snuggled up beside you with ease.
Dolly has done wonderfully with the school-aged children she's met so far and has been friendly with everyone she's met. We haven't had the opportunity to see how she does with larger dogs yet, but she has done well with dogs around her size and age. As far as we've observed, she doesn't show any food guarding and happily lets you rub her ears and give her all the belly rubs she can get.
She may be a little nervous during her first few days in a new home or when meeting large groups of people, so giving her a little time and patience will help her confidence blossom. Like any puppy, she's also still teething, so having plenty of chew toys on hand is a must!
One thing to know is that Dolly doesn't know her name yet, which means her future family has the opportunity to keep "Dolly" or choose a new name as she continues learning. She's also still working on commands like come, lay down , and stay, so she'd do best with a securely fenced yard or by staying on a leash outside. Being mindful around open doors will help keep her safe while she builds her recall skills.
Dolly doesn't need a perfect family, she just needs one that's willing to be patient, have fun, and love her as she grows into the amazing dog she's meant to be.
She may still be learning about the world, but she has so much love to give and is going to make an incredible companion for the lucky family who chooses her. Whoever adopts her won't just be getting a dog, they'll be getting a best friend.
