Sansa is a darling 10-month-old Chihuahua–Cocker Spaniel mix who weighs about 10 lbs. She's a playful and happy pup who was surrendered to our shelter when her family could no longer care for her. Despite her past, Sansa remains affectionate and sweet, eager to start her next chapter with a loving family. She's good with cats, other dogs, and children. While she might bark at strangers initially, she warms up with a little reassurance. Sansa would blossom in a home that offers consistent guidance and helps her build confidence.
Ideal Home
Sansa would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. She needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog and an open conscience regarding the behaviors of rescue animals who may need extra protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer. A high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.
Ongoing Health
Sansa has received a spay/neuter certificate, 2 DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, a Bordetella vaccine, and has been dewormed and microchipped. She has also tested negative for heartworm and 4DX, and receives monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She comes with a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Sansa is crate trained and reliably does her business in the yard. However, it's important to note that she is not house-trained, as the rescue is unable to house-train every animal due to the large number of pets in foster care. She may bark at strangers initially but warms up with patience. She requires guidance with love and consistency to build confidence and feel safe.

- If it's a match, we'll arrange a call or video chat for an introduction and a virtual home tour.
- We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
- Upon approval, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.
Transportation
Sansa is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a cross-country trip. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery. Transport is available via a contracted company that organizes scheduled trips (3-4 times per year) with a dedicated team that travels from Montana to Mexico. Pets are provided with all necessary legal documents, including a transport contract, USDA health certificate, and health protocol certificates. For US adoptions, pets are escorted across the border into Texas. Real-time updates will be provided via a private Facebook Messenger group, and the transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
